Step Into Your Entertainment: 3D Viewing with the Formovie Theater Premium

Projectors have advanced throughout the years to adapt to new forms of media – racing with an industry keen to maintain a modern lifestyle where people can be entertained comfortably in their homes. As different mediums of entertainment become more accessible, home projectors have sought out elevated means to stay in the race. The 3D entertainment phenomenon is one of those great eras in technology. While 3D home entertainment might have seemed far-fetched, the medium is quickly gaining traction in many households. In this blog, we look at how 3D viewing can elevate your home projector setup and how Formovie has recently updated its Theater Premium projector to do just that.
The Importance of 3D Viewing for Home Theater Projectors
When you think of projector setups, you might be imagining a grainy depiction of an image on a wall – barely constructed and sporadically flashing by. However, projector technology is now enhanced to the level of competing directly with televisions in terms of visual quality and clarity. Now, even something as complex as 3D viewing can be achieved using projector technology. First, let’s break down what 3D viewing is and how it can contribute to an elevated home projector entertainment setup.
Humans perceive depth because our left and right eyes will each see a different view of the same object. Our brain will then synthesize this visual information to create the sense of depth and distance we are accustomed to – this is a phenomenon known as stereoscopic vision. Now, to recreate the experience of stereoscopic vision, 3D viewing will simulate this process through frame sequential 3D - or page flipping. This ensures that the projected video alternates between a frame to be viewed by the left eye and a frame to be viewed by the right eye in sequence until the video ends. Through the lenses of 3D glasses, each frame is then directed to its corresponding eye to be seen at the right time to create the 3D effect.
Now, projectors already use a series of angles, lighting, and visual manipulations to reproduce clear and vibrant imagery, however, the main focus of projector entertainment is always to create a more immersive experience – and what’s more immersive than 3D viewing? Home projectors have the added benefit of being much larger and therefore more capable of bringing to life a more immersive and cinematic 3D experience. Each element of the 3D effect is amplified by the sheer size of the projected image, as well as the added visual and audio elements. This makes home projectors the ideal setup for the best 3D entertainment experience – and Formovie knows this as well.
